Big Sky Conference Football Recap - Oct. 22

Fourth-ranked Montana State, No. 12 Montana and Eastern Washington earned Big Sky Conference football victories on Saturday.
Cody Kirk rushed for 202 yards and a touchdowns to lead Montana State to a 31-21 road win over Northern Colorado. MSU QB DeNarius McGhee threw for 188 yards and two touchdowns as the Bobcats moved to 5-0 in conference and 7-1 overall.
Montana's Jordan Canada scored a 46-yard touchdown with under five minutes remaining, lifting the Grizzlies to their 14th straight win over Northern Arizona, a 28-24 decision. Montana improved to 5-1 in league and 6-2 overall.
Eastern Washington won its fourth straight game, beating Sacramento State 42-35 in overtime on the road. The Eagles rallied from a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit. Nicholas Edwards hauled in four TD passes from Bo Levi Mitchell. The Hornets played without starting QB Jeff Fleming, who was injured. Sacramento State missed a game-winning field-goal attempt at the end of regulation
Southern Utah scored 32 second-half points to beat Weber State 35-28 in a non-conference game. Connor Kavanaugh threw three TD passes to lead Portland State to a 36-10 over Division III Willamette. Brigham Young topped Idaho State 56-3.
